If your wedding has a floral motif there is absolutely no reason that you shouldn’t have those flowers decorating your wedding cake as well. But with the knowledge that some flowers might be poisonous and shouldn’t be added to a cake, consider the possibility of having those flowers made out of icing.

According to the designers at Buckhead Wedding Cakes a bride can have the flowers in her bouquet replicated in butter icing or fondant. Many pastry chefs nowadays specialize in making quite realistic looking (and tasty) flowers out of sugar candy.

These flower decorations are usually handmade and more expensive then flowers squished out of a tube but they are worth it because they are so elegant looking.  A good pastry chef can replicate almost any type of blossom.
