chocolate covered strawberriesThe blogger at Our One Heart has reminded us of an idea that is not often exploited – the edible wedding table centerpiece. Why not have a centerpiece that you can actually eat rather than one that just sits there and wilts. The point is that it is easy to make flowers out of just about any type of fruit. A popular choice is a setting made from strawberry coated centerpieces. These could be set on a bed of chocolate-coated marshmallows or chocolate brownies that looks like earth. The flowers themselves are made out of strawberries and could even be sliced and cut to look at daisies. Of course a skilled food decorator can carve any type of fruit or vegetable. Carved pineapples and mangos have become especially popular as centerpieces at Maui style tropical wedding festivities. Of course anything can be built out of pieces of chocolate and fruit together using skewers and Dowling sticks as well. Dipping the fruit in candied sugar or sugar frost is also a nice idea.
