These two flowers are gorgeous in spring and summer bouquets, but beware the dangers of the flowers! Not to yourself, of course, but to each other.
Daffodils and tulips do not particulaly like each other, but they can actually be used in a mixed arrangement without them killing each other off. A big part of the problem is the sticky sap that daffodils exude. To keep them from poisoning the tulips and other flowers, daffodils should be soaked overnight until the sap stops flowing.
Another cure for the sap is to place the daffodils in a mixture that is one gallon of water to every 20-25 drops of bleach for 1-6 hours to stop the sap.
If you have your heart set on daffodils, ask your florist how he or she will prepare them.
