Silk Flower Cake Decorations

You don’t have to have a cake decorated with flowers made out of frosting. Instead you can have flowers made out of silk on your cake. They can also be the topper of your cake. Not only does this look very elegant and dignified but also your guests can keep the flowers as keepsakes or wear them home.

My Silk Wedding Flowers has several really nice ideas for decorating your cake with flowers. One style that they call the Calla Lily Bouquet and Boutonniere Cake features white calla lilies, white delphinium blooms, white roses and vines and rose leaves piled on the top of three tiers of vanilla cake.

Another interesting use of silk flowers on a cake is also pictured at My Silk Wedding Flowers and features a multi-tiered vanilla cake that is elaborated decorated with large navy blue lilies. As navy blue lilies are not found in nature this makes for quite a distinctive wedding cake.

You can also get porcelain cake toppers that are ringed with silk flowers such as tiny pink or yellow fabric roses that are meant to be solid supports for bride and groom figurines at the top of the take.
