If you are trying to decide on a wedding gown and yet you still want to look trendy and hip it is not such a bad idea to take a cue from the gowns that were seen on the red carpet during the 2009 Emmy awards.

For instance a great deal of lace, especially black and flesh colored lace was seen at the Emmy Awards. Sandra Oh wore a black Oscar de La Renta. The one shouldered look was also very fashion forward. Vera Wang and Adele Wechsler also featured these types of gowns in their collections.

Another big shape seen on the red carpet was the sweetheart neckline. Debra Messing wore it and so did Tina Fey. The sweetheart neckline is also expected to be a hot cut for a dress for spring.

Beading is also a big trend. It was seen on dresses worn by Felicity Huffman, Cheryl Hines and other stars on the red carpet. A favorite designer of the stars who works with lavish beading is Reem Acra. The designer also did Olivia Wilde’s pals silver chiffon and satin gown for the Emmy’s which could easily double for anyone as a wedding dress!
