BedThe wedding’s coming, it’s six months away, it’s three months away, a month, two weeks, THE WEDDING IS IN ONE WEEK and not only is your anxiety rising, but your sleep is decreasing. This is likely making you more negative, according to a recent report by LiveScience. And apparently, this is no small amount of negativity that your tired brain generates. According to the research, the emotional centers of the brain became more than 60% more reactive to negative emotional stimuli when sleep deprived. As Matthew Walker, a neuroscientist at the University of California, Berkeley, told LiveScience, “That’s a whopping increase—the emotional parts of the brain just seem to run amok.”

The moral of the story? Get enough sleep. Weddings breed negative emotional stimuli – you won’t need a head start on dramatic overreactions.
