According to a report by PC World, artificial intelligence experts are predicting that within the next 50 years, humans could be marrying robots. They predict that these machines could begin to show and respond to human emotions. One expert, David Levy, even predicts that we could be having physical relationships with robots within the next few years.
I have to admit that I’m skeptical - but this article does bring an interesting problem to light. When planning a wedding, it is important to not just go through the motions like a robot. Many brides and grooms become so over-worked and over-stressed during the weeks before their wedding that they forget the reason they’re getting married in the first place. The weeks leading up to your wedding shouldn’t be without passion. Here are a few ways to incorporate that love your feel into your life, even if you’re short on time and money due to wedding planning:
- Schedule time to plan for the wedding, but schedule time to NOT plan for the wedding, as well. Your time together shouldn’t be completely engulfed with flower choices and honeymoon plans. Once a month (at least), take a whole day off to forget about the wedding and just spend time together.
- Take your cake choices on a picnic! When you’re trying to choose a bakery for your wedding cake, you’ll get lots of samples, especially from the bakery that you eventually choose. (If they don’t offer samples, just ask!) Most bakeries will have at least five selections, but some bakeries will have dozens. Take the samples and go on a picnic with your groom (or, if it’s winter, a picnic indoors by the fire works well, too).
- Go on a mini pre-honeymoon. Set a small budget (it can even be as small as $100) and about three months before your wedding, take a day trip or weekend trip to a place that will get you excited for your honeymoon. For example, if you’re honeymooning by the beach, visit a local aquarium or harbor for the day. If you’re honeymooning in Greece, go to your favorite Greek restaurant. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a fun time together and get really excited for the honeymoon.
Remember, don’t turn into robo-bride before your wedding! Take some time to enjoy one another in preparation for the wedding day.
