The bouquet is a key part of your wedding look - if you have no other flowers, you at least need something to carry down the aisle and throw at your reception. Keep in mind, however, that not all bouquets are made in the same manner. Choosing the one that is right for you takes a bit of thought.

First, the tradition style is called the hand-tied bouquet. Like its name implies, the florist creates this bouquet by tying together the stems of the flowers with pretty ribbons. Not every kind of flower works for every bouquet. Here, you need stems that stand up to the task.

The nosegay is also a very traditional type of wedding bouquet. This is a type of hand-tied bouquet, but instead of having long stems, the flowers look more like a complete cluster over your hands. This is also called a posy bouquet, and these flower arrangements are usually smaller in size than other hand-tied bouquets.

Recently becoming more and more popular, the cascade bouquet is both elegant and easy to create with almost any type of flower. The main downfall of the cascade style is that it uses more flowers and can generally be more expensive.

Lastly, consider a unique modern bouquet. There isn’t a “set” style for this type of bouquet - it is like modern art, a unique interpretation by your florist. Modern bouquets aren’t for everyone, but they can work if you want to make a statement.
