As you probably know, President Bush’s daughter, Jenna, recently got married, and I can’t imagine the hoopla that surrounded that ceremony. Chances are that your wedding will be a bit more low-key, but as the day starts, you might begin to feel like a celebrity with all the attention you’re getting. How do you deal with it? Here are three tips for staying stress-free and happy, even if you aren’t a fan of the limelight:

smileTip #1: Keep smiling! It can be a real drag when you’re being pulled in all directions, but try to keep a genuine smile on your face. After all, you’ll soon be a Mrs.! When things go wrong, take a deep breath, smile, and remember that all eyes will be on your today. If you let the stress get to you, so will everyone else, and the problems will only begin to snowball.

Tip #2: Stick to the schedule. You don’t have to schedule every single minute of the day (trust me - your bridesmaids will only laugh if you shuffle everyone to the bathroom for a timed potty break). However, having a sense of a schedule for teh day will help you to feel in control. Everyone will want a piece of you, but just say no - they have to go to the back of the line. Turn off your cell phone and direct people to your maid of honor. One task at a time!

Tip #3: Eat a lot of cake. Actually, eat a lot in general. Many brides are so stressed and crazed on their wedding days that they forgot to eat. Trust me, it is easy to be shuffled from one place to the next without getting a decent lunch. Once you get to the reception, make sure that you eat. No matter who wants to take your picture or say hello, ask them to come back later. You need to refuel!
