According to Ken’s Wine Guide, you don’t have to pay a lot of money to serve the appropriate kinds of wine at your wedding. The key is to think about your guests and what they would prefer – whether it is a rose, red, white or dessert wine. It is also possible that your guests may prefer a sparkling wine or champagne to any kind of cabernet or sauvignon. You can also try to pair the wine with the food. If prime rib is on the menu then you need to serve it with Merlot, Syrah or a Cabernet. If seafood or chicken is being served then you need to serve Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc or Sauvignon Blanc. You should make sure that you have at least two rounds of champagne or sparkling wine to serve at the toasting of the bride and groom. You don’t have to break the bank to serve a wine that is a crowd pleaser. A very good wine will often do just as well as an excellent champagne which costs thousands more to buy bulk in bottles.
