Before you send out your wedding invitations, it is a good idea to register at one or two of your favorite stores. The process of registering is easy - you just step up to a video screen and make your selections. Here are four important tips to keep in mind while you’re registering:
Tip #1: Stick to one store. You probably have multiple favorite places to shop, but that can be confusing for your guests. Instead, choose your favorite department store and, at most, one extra specialty store.
Tip #2: Look for a store that allows you to register online. Registering in the store is fine, but chances are that you and your groom really want to consider things like plate patterns and curtain designs. Instead of spending hours upon hours in a store, you can do that from the comfort of your own home.
Tip #3: Choose items in a variety of price ranges. Some guests may love to give you a $300 vase, but not everyone can afford that. Make sure you have some gifts in the $25 - $50 range so that all of your guests feel comfortable.
Tip #4: Consider a money option for your honeymoon. As your wedding nears, the gifts you’ve registered may become picked out as people purchase them. When your younger cousin logs in to purchase something, there might be nothing left in an appropriate price range. Consider an option where they can donate directly to your honeymoon fund or buy a gift card.
