wedding bride hairHopefully, you and your hairstylist will practice your hairdo in the weeks leading up to your wedding. If you don’t, though, you might be sadly surprised when you hate your hair on your big day. It is important to plan enough time for fixes and an redo if necessary, but how do you deal with wedding hair that you hate? Here are some tips to ensure that you’ll walk down the aisle with a style you love:

Be honest from the start. If you see something happening that you don’t like, politely stop your hairstylist and get him or her back on the right track. Keep in mind that hairstyles sometimes don’t look good right away, since it will have to be pinned as it is curled, straightened, braided, and otherwise styled. Don’t wait until the end, though, to voice your opinion! Give your stylist as much time as possible to fix it.

Stay calm. Nothing will get fixed if you’re upset. Try to go with the flow and talk to your stylist calmly. Remember, this is his or her work you hate…be gentle! Yes, it is your big day, but stressing out solves nothing.

Have a simple back-up plan. If that beautiful up-do you imaged isn’t working out, have a simple style that you can fall back on. For example, pull your hair back into a classic bun with a few curls around your face. A simple style may not be your perfect idea of wedding hair, but it will look great and doesn’t take long to complete if you hate the first attempt.

If possible, make sure you meet with your stylist before the big day to experiment with hairstyles. If you can’t, though, make sure that you plan plenty of time to get your hair done so that you don’t have to get married with hair you hate. For more hairstyle tips, check out this website.
