Tip #1: Stick to one store. You probably have multiple favorite places to shop, but that can be confusing for your guests. Instead, choose your favorite department store and, at most, one extra specialty store.

Tip #2: Look for a store that allows you to register online. Registering in the store is fine, but chances are that you and your groom really want to consider things like plate patterns and curtain designs. Instead of spending hours upon hours in a store, you can do that from the comfort of your own home.

Tip #3: Choose items in a variety of price ranges. Some guests may love to give you a $300 vase, but not everyone can afford that. Make sure you have some gifts in the $25 - $50 range so that all of your guests feel comfortable.

Tip #4: Consider a money option for your honeymoon. As your wedding nears, the gifts you’ve registered may become picked out as people purchase them. When your younger cousin logs in to purchase something, there might be nothing left in an appropriate price range. Consider an option where they can donate directly to your honeymoon fund or buy a gift card.

Should you register for gifts?There’s no reason you can’t register for gifts. After all, many of the people who are invited to your wedding might not have been a part of your life when you were married in the past. Don’t expect gifts, especially from people who attended your first wedding.What should you wear?

~ Some guests won’t be able to make it. People are very protective of their wedding traditions. Although your friends and family may be in town, some won’t want to deviate from their normal schedules for your wedding. So, if you get married during the holiday season, keep in mind that you may be compromising your guest list.

~ Receptions halls are booked very early for holiday parties. Make sure that you find a venue early or company Christmas parties and other holiday events will fill up the schedule, leaving no room for you.

~ Some vendors may not work on holidays. That cake shop you love might be closed on Christmas Eve or your favorite DJ might be out of town for the week if you plan a holiday wedding. Make sure you confirm the date with your vendors before finding out the hard way that the alteration shop closed early and you can’t get your dress until Monday…two days after your Saturday wedding.
